One of these http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/story/fx/

I need something that is fast and light for my 20 mile commute, that's not as precious as my trike. Getting it from the LBS for £450 with rack and mudguards.

They are building a lady's specific frame up for me to test ride sometime on Saturday.

I would have gone for a racing bike, however I like to be in an upright position and I have never been able to get used to racing handlebars. I just find them unsafe and don't feel properly in control, being one who likes to have the brakes covered at all times.

Plus after working on the recycling round for a year I have a bit of a poorly back.

Nice bike ;)

It maybe won't get you there as fast as a dropped bar bike but a flat bar road bike is certainly no slouch, enjoy!

You might wan't to consider something however a wee bit lighter and narrower tyred and more towards the flat bar road bike end of the market, perhaps the Sirrus.

surely for 20 miles something like an audax bike would be more suited? it'd definitely be faster surely?

Im doing well with my Audax, same sort of commute and it's done 5000+ miles.

I don't like the look of the brakes on it,are they easy to adjust?

Rest of the bike looks nice though.
