My contract with 3 finishes on June 13th so I will soon look around for a new phone, possibly with Vodaphone as they seem to have better coverage around here. I am contemplating the HTC one x and Samsung galaxy 3 coming out shortly. Which do you advise bearing in mind I don't do games or listen to music on my phone. All advice welcomed. Thank you

I've ordered an HTC one x as I've had an HTC for the past 2 years and it's served me well.. If you don't do games you might be better of with something lower down the chain? The one s looks nice and is thinner and surely less power hungry...

I have the HTC Desire S and I picked the HTC because I prefer the build quality over the samsungs, having said that nowt wrong with samsungs and you wont go wrong with either of them just check them both out in the real world befte you buy.

There's a huge amount of hype regarding the iPhone. I would go for an Android phone every time though.

There are some good deals on them too. especially if you go for the slightly older phones like the Galaxy SII etc.

I've used iPhones for the past 5 years and I won't use anything now. Yes iTunes is crap and not user friendly, but for everything else they cannot be beaten IMO.

I did venture away about 6 months ago and got a Samsung Galaxy S2, never again! Build quality was shocking, battery life appalling and I discovered I hate Android more than iTunes, but that may be because I'm too used to iOS.

Equally, if you're used to Android then a move to iOS may not work out for you either. Use what makes you happy I'd say - so I use iPhone 4s

Well I was hoping for a more heated discussion! Yes, Apple are good at what they do and they are very wide spread but hardly the best.
Android have their good points. It was my choice due to being open source and the better choice of handsets..
Hadn't realised it was Bank holiday weekend when I ordered my new phone or I'd already have my new phone and all 5 processing cores! Now if that's not just an excuse for one upmanship and being completely overkill I don't know what is!

I got an HTC One X on the release day to replace my HTC Desire (2yr contract had ended). Simply stunning piece of kit, though if you don't do games or music then it's probably complete overkill!

You can all keep your iPhones. Not an Apple fan - worst mistake I ever made was getting an iPod - crap sound quality and bloody iTunes. My old 20Gb iRiver iHP120 was far superior in the sound stakes and I could drag-n-drop my music over. Imagine the fun I had re-ripping my music as I'd used the superior OGG encoding on the iRiver in preference to mp3. *whinge whinge*
