My choice of new bike

Hello, I an coming into the world of cycling, although I have other two wheeled transport (a motorbike!). I tried a Claud Butler Odyssey 2009 model hybrid, amongst others & loved it, really comfortable, seems well made, etc so I ordered one, for collection in a couple of days.

Was I wise?

Although I'm sure some here would way if you spent less than £500 on it that it was a BSO and will fall apart on your first ride
