Well, after keeping an eye on Ebay over the past few weeks for a cheap-as-chips-to-take-to-a-music-festival bike, this little folder popped up at £10 with 2 hours left... £13.50 and train fare, and I have this little beaut home and safe

She's a lovely little machine, definitely had a hard life though

You can see the rust on the brake lever, and the brake cable not going in properly.

She's certainly in need a lick of paint, and a few spare parts

I'd love to fix her up as she's a lovely machine, but she's too small to use regularly and I don't have the wallspace to put her on display

On that topic, anyone know where I can get a 26.4mm seatpost... and what handlebar size a Peugeot Orient Express takes (from experience)?

Ebay is your friend:
Sorry, I misread the decals. It's got "Orbit" written on the seatpost, not "Oriental express"

After measuring it, the seatpost is somewhere between 24mm and 25mm, so if anyone could give me an idea as to what size it actually is, it would be greatly helpful, as folders aren't my forté

It could be 25 mm - not an uncommon size for old French bikes IIRC.
Know anyone with a micrometer?

A set of vernier calipers would do.

I have a set...

She's sweet. Reminds me a little of Night Train's Granville - not in looks - she's a girl after all, but in unlovedness and potential.

We are both in York, but 25mm sounds a close enough guess to me... especially seeing as I don't trust riding that far out to borrow a micrometer

I'll head into the bike rescue place and see if they have any in that fit
