Trying to import some old messages into my OE using a method I've used before:
Create new folder in inbox: archive 06. Click on it. Close down OE. Go to mail store. Delete new archive 06.dbx file. Put original archive 06.dbx file in folder. Open OE. Messages are in folder.
Except they're not.
Back to mail store. There's a new (75Kb) file called archive 06(1).dbx. Eh?
It gets weirder.
Create new folder in inbox: archive 07. Click on it. Close down OE. Go to mail store. Delete new archive 07.dbx file. Put original archive 07.dbx file in folder. Open OE. Messages are in folder.
Except they're not 07 messages. they're all the messages from the Inbox. Which is now empty.
Right-click on Inbox > Properties > 'messages are stored in C:/blahdeblah/mail/archive 07.dbx'
WTF?
Plus, just for seasoning....
Create new folder: archive 08. Click on it. Close OE. Go to mail store to find archive 08.dbx (for deletion/substitution). But there is no archive 08.dbx.
Any ideas anyone? This level of bizarre is way over my head.
