In a news release late Saturday, Nasa say that astronaut Tim Kopra, scheduled to fly on the next Shuttle flight, has been injured in a cycling accident. No details of the accident have been released yet, citing medical privacy concerns, but NASA have said that 'Tim Kopra will be OK. But officials are still evaluating if he'll be able to perform his duties when the shuttle Discovery launches to the International Space Station on Feb. 24.'
It's not been a easy start to the year for NASA, with the shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, wife of astronaut Mark Kelly who was due to command the last flight of Endeavor in April. I just hope the rest of the year brings only good news for NASA, and I'm sure we all hope that Tim Kopra is was not too seriously injured. Get Well soon mate...
