Heading down the road today I see a woman cyclist in front. She's approaching a pinchpoint and I'm going to pass her just as she goes through. I check around and begin to move out. There's a car coming fast, so I hold, check again and see he's slowing, continue to move out, look around and discover the woman is moving across me diagonally, arm out to turn right. I mutter "Oh shoot" under my breath, jab the back brake and swerve left up her inside. Close. Not very close but close enough. If push came to shove, I suppose I could've just turned right with her and hoped her magic signal arm would have saved us both from disaster.
