Well almost. Had cyclescheme approved today for my new urban commuter - the Cube Hyde.

So soon ditching the DLR and starting the 8-9 mile ride each way. Looking forward to it, and the benefits on both my wallet and health (assuming I don't end up under a bus).

I'll be riding with AnnaSpanna who just joined and introduced me to CycleChat yesterday.

The hardest thing so far has been choosing a bike. So many options! I tried to narrow it down quickly to avoid getting into that neverending search for the "perfect" bike.

The two options in the end were the Marin Lucas Valley (2011 on sale) and the Cube Hyde (2012).

I liked the slightly more road oriented Marin, but was a bit more expensive and a bit less practical, specifically couldn't take a rack on the back (due to carbon forks). And the Hyde has disc brakes which I wanted. So the Hyde won.

My last bike was 11 years ago when I commuted to/from work in Wellington, New Zealand. Will be a bit different riding through London!
