have been ordered as one side of the rear of my rear wheel has worn down beyond the wear line. decided to (slightly) upgrade them to these, have i jumped the gun? if so i'll put the old wheels on my commuter bike, which won't have to do any nasty descents with the brakes full on.

i couldn't risk a dodgy rim on the wild wales challenge.

There's probably loads of life left in the wheels. However, if it was me I would be getting them changed promptly. Having experianced a rim collapsing under braking i'm in no hurry to repeat the experiance.

Not the biggest fan of the 105 wheels myself.

You could perhaps try these:

Model C's @ £125 look very good value. Not much user experience yet online however from those who have got them it seems to be largely positive. Certainly lighter than anything else in that price range anyway. I'm getting the Model B's when they finally come back into stock however its part of a bike build so it doesn't really cost me to try them.
