Walking home yesterday, saw a chap pushing a very nice looking bike (they're digging the road up and it's closed), and I've just been looking to see if I could find what it was. Red, it was, with white panels on the tubes and a logo that seemed to say Giant, but not in their normal typeface.

Turns out it's one of these:

I think I'm in love. Ridiculous. I don't generally get on with drop bars, I don't need any more bikes, I'm not lithe and sleek and fast. And it's in there bloody 'lifestyle' section. I'm not the sort of person who has a lifestyle!

I think it's the retro look. And the chrome forks. And the one I saw yesterday just looked so sleek and wanting to go fast, like a thoroughbred horse.

Thank god I can't find a price....

True. They've polished up nicely, BTW.

That Bowery is so totally not me, that's the thing. So why do I want it so badly?

No, Doc, the Galaxy is going to have gears. I may want to ride it outside York.;)

Giant Bowery is the most wrong bike ever. Last year's version was bad, this year it is worse. Ugly and pointless....and shoot.

And there is no 'but'.

£624, well, that sorts it out. A needless new bike, or live for over a month...

I still love it though. The one I saw for real looked so fast and shiny, and sleek.

No, I have my Galaxy to play with.

But I want it!
