They can stand between 5ft and 6ft 6 at the shoulder and weigh up to 1800 lbs, biggest of the Deer family I think.

I'm amazed it took them so long to get to the other side of the barrier. Must be used to the little critters, I would have been lugging my bike over the barrier as soon as I saw them most likely. It would be a pretty amazing sight though.

They are not carnivores so they won't (shouldn't) bite but might hurt a bit if one of those beasties leant on one's self .

She came along on a recent CycleChat forum ride from Rochdale to Blackpool and was telling me lots of interesting stories. One of them was how she was once bombing down a floodlit ski slope at night, shot round a high speed bend and found a giant moose standing directly in her path! She had the choice of hitting the moose or diving off the ski slope...

There's something really nice about that clip. just how peaceful it is a how calm the rider is not going into a hissy fit when the moose get near the bike.
