Odd thign I noticed since I started cycling alot, I often wake up with the muscles in my thighs tensed up and legs locked straight. What's this all about, sign of overdoing it?

Can't say it really bothers me much, just 'one of those things' - only worry is that doing this in my sleep will start triggering off a cramps, which aren't much fun to wake up to.

Sounds like classic dehydration and electrolyte (i.e. salts) depletion.

I used to get them (leg cramps at night) after long rides (6 hours and longer) of just drinking water. They stopped when I started using Nuun/Zym electrolyte tablets in my bidons.
