I shake my head, how stupid can some people be (apart from me for watching it  )
Each member of the audience has to pick black or red, then a challenge is set, if the red rider wins, red goes through..if the black rider wins etc etc.
One chance, red or black. Its not scientific, you just pick a colour and hope for the best.

One dopey woman's can't make up her mind....she's ringing her partner to get some advice !!!!!!

I mean...really !!!

Sounds like Deal or No Deal.

Pure chance, but human minds don't like pure chance, so they try really hard to imagine a pattern.

SWMBO was watching, i walked out of the room.

Games shows today are just target the lowest common denominator, no skill or knowledged required just the requirement to cheer and scream when someone says red or black.

Total crap TV! followed by X factor need i say more?

For a look at how games shows should be, just watch the reruns of Blockbusters on Challenge tv. the questions come thick and fast and the kids demonstrate a good all round general knowledge. no boring getting to know the contestant chat, no umming and erring over the answers just a quick fire quiz show.

Only Connect on BBC4 is pretty good as well

Except it's presented by Vicky Coren

Or maybe it isn't anymore - I hope so.

Alan Coren's children seem to have done very well on the back of their Dad's less than sensational career.

Giles and Victoria seem to have landed well and truly on their feet despite no discernible talent.

(Although Victoria can play poker - I just wish she'd stick to what she's good at)

No no. Giles is dishy! (Which is good enough for me!)

Victoria has something which has me completely in lust with her, although I couldn't say what it is. She isn't particularly attractive, her voice is a tad nasal and can verge into whiney, but I could sit and listen to / watch her until there are icicles on the very gates of hell and never get bored.

I don't watch many gameshows but from what I've seen I think the production team must push the contestants to dither over the answer, even if they know it. Load of shite.

I admit Victoria Coren is not my favourite presenter, but then again I really don't like Julian Fellows but 'Never Mind the Full Stops' was ok, and Jeremy Paxman always annoys me on University Challenge.

Coren has an unusual history from what I remember. Earlier in her career she worked for the Erotic Review, and then went on to direct a porn film.
Also she was the one that came up with a pretend dead person (and funeral), to catch a group of people who free-loaded at wakes.

Sorry Arch and Norm.

Dishiness doesn't count.

Giles Coren's articles in the Times are risible - especially his food ones

Vicky produced a porn film so she could write a book about it.

I find her whiny and leaden as a presenter.

If their Dad hadn't been Alan do you really, really think they would be so ubiquitous?

I've still failed to put my finger on anything either of them are talented at. (Apart from Victoria at Poker - she makes a comfortable living doing that - which makes it even more irritating when she pops up on my telly doing something she can't do, like presenting a game show for example. She's terrible)

Arch, if you didn't find Giles attractive, could you see where I'm coming from?

TV has been cursed by the cult of youth and prettiness recently. David Attenborough wouldn't be allowed near a TV studio these days if he wasn't already known.

"Dishiness" does count if the question was 'Is she "dishy"'.

But I already said that she isn't and that she is whiney. I don't think there is anything in what you have said that does anything other than affirm what I said.

She isn't attractive, she can be whiney, I have no idea why but I could watch / listen to her for hours.

You don't have to agree, you certainly don't have to apologise, it's just an opinion but it's mine and you won't be changing it.

I know what you mean of course Norm - some people just seem to have a certain attraction that others can't see.

I'm the same - I find one of the minor presenters on "South Today" strangely appealing. She only does the one after the national 10 o'clock news, but I have been known to tune in when I wouldn't normally when she's on.

I suppose my gripe is, she's a journalist who's worked her way up to that position.

The Corens are people who had a famous Dad.
