Old chains/cassettes - recyclable?

    As per title - what do you do with old chains and cassettes? I'd like to think they can be recycled rather than ending up in landfill. My local recycling centre takes old bikes but not sure about odd bits and pieces.

    As a hoarder by nature, i tend to keep them but this is pointless and the collection is getting bigger all the time.

    Polish up the cogs and make nice Christmas decorations from them.

    I put mine in the 'Scrap Metal' container at the tip/recycling centre.
    Otherwise cogs make good ninja throwing stars:evil:
