so when the kid leaves school she'll be 84! if she's still alive that is...

very selfish, maybe she should have considered fostering, though at her age she'd probably be in-eligible which is the greater pity

In my school a few people lost their Mums at the age of around 16. There parents weren't anywhere near 80.

What ever the case it is sad...I would agree that it is a bit irresponsible having a kid that late in life.

Agreed it is irresponsible,

But more or less so than any one of the abundance of teenagers giving birth?

As a parent, what I would say is, when your toddlers are racing around and wanting continuous attention, are you as a 68/69 year old going to be able to keep up with them and play with them for the amount of time that they will require without having to give up after a few minutes because you haven't got the energy of a parent in their 20's or 30's. Believe me, young kids do wear you out, quickly. Also, where is the guidence going to come from when this child is going into it's teenage years and it's mother is approaching 80?
