Pannier rack for Specialized Myka.

My new mountain bike arrived today.

I'm going to be using this as a bike for all purposes - I need a pannier rack - bougtt a blackburn rack today, took it home but the bits that connect to the frame under the saddle were far too short, so took it back for a refund.

Any advice welcome, I'm going to be needing fairly good quality rack that I can fit some ortlieb back rollers onto.

I've just nipped out and had a look at my wife's Myka - it has bolts for a rack on the chainstays but being a small frame these are going to be considerably lower than the top of the rack. I reckon any rack ought to do but you're going to need to do some molehusbandry with strips of metal to secure it to the frame. I would go during a quiet weekday to a good independent bike shop and ask the owner to give you the bits to set it up, they do exist.

You may find that a seat post clamp with built in lugs do the trick.

Thank you for your replies.

The guys at Edinburgh bike co op reckoned the one we bought initial would work with some extensions, but OH wasn't so sure as it really was a massive distance.

Will look again, and look at the seat post connector.
