I've just got back from my weekly shop and Morrisons had 3-1 on pasta shapes (eliche and penne) so I now have 3kg of the stuff.

I'm now up for ideas for what to do with it?

I'm ok for bolognese making, and throwing some in casseroles but I'm open for suggestions

bacon, milk, egg yolks, single cream, capers, salt, pepper... hey presto.. Carbonara.

There are a million and one things to do with pasta.

Yea that is very nice the recipie is here
http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/pasta-recipes/beautiful-courgette-carbonara
but he did have more simple version some where

I think it was
start to boil pasta

fry the bacon bits until crispy
add diced courgettes but dont over cook them

then stick the pasta, bacon, courgettes in a boil. Throw in some grated cheese and mix a bit. Then lob in a tub of creme fraiche and mix in

job done very quick and easy and the wife loves it too

Done in a very similar way to the captains simple recipe, leeks are nice instead of courgettes, or as well as perhaps. With some philadelphia style cheese instead of creme fraiche and plenty of black pepper.

But please - no chicken with pasta. Thanks.

Edit: the Co-Op are selling square spaghetti at the moment, even on offer it was twice the price of their own brand stuff so I put it back.
