Peugeot Optima in Reynolds 531 tubing from late eighties/early nineties.

The frame and forks have the usual marks and scuffs expected of a bike of this age and the decals have some bare patches.

Frameset:
Reynolds 531 butted steel (excl. forks)
Yellow and purple with purple, white, yellow and pink decals.
Beautiful hand brazed lugs and pencil thin rear stays.
Tight, racing geometry.

Seat Tube = 52cm

Stem:
Cinelli.

Handlebars:
Cinelli Criterium.

Brake calipers:
Shimano RX100 alloy calipers .

Brake levers:
Shimano RX100 SLR levers.

Saddle:
Rolls San Marco in white. Some scuffs as you would expect.

Seatpost:
Alloy fluted.

Crankset:
Shimano RX100 double with Biospace 52T/42T chainrings .

Cassette:
Shimano HG HyperGlide 13-23.

Front mech:
Shimano RX100

Rear mech:
Shimano RX100 7 speed

Pedals:
N/A

Rims/Hubs:
Front: Mavic Monte 190 NE 700c. Black.

Rear: Mavic Open4CD with stainless eyelets

Some wear on braking surface but true and straight. Silky smooth bearings.
Both laced to Shimano RX100 hubs front and rear. Silver.

Tyres/tubes:
Orange Vittoria Competition 700c x 22c.

This bike has been stored indoors but hasn't been used for a long time. It needs a good cleanup but attach some pedals and it could be ridden as it is.

My dad bought that very same bike when we moved to England. Rode it to work for a couple years then passed it on to me.
That same bike took me to over 50mph in Rivington one day and no bike has ever come close to that since. It was a bloody rocket that bike! Until yours, I've never seen another one. Rare!
Whoever ends up with that will be a very lucky person indeed. :wub:

Brilliant, not to worry then. I’m Durham based which I believe or en route between newcastle and Sheffield, however I’m away with work until Friday lunchtime

Np except I'm on holiday all next week then working away for a week. Could bring bike back up north around 14th August.
