Its not.

You asked a question; 'What dont I know about bikes?' I simply answered it.

I expect it would be simpler and less wear on the keyboard, to list what he does know...

They have wheels....

Er...

That's it.

ah yeah, well, I meant 'what don't I know about bikes that's necessary to know in order to build one'. i.e. what don't I know that would render me unsuitable for a job in the bike industry like yours. You don't have to know the history of bike componentry manufacturers through the ages, in fact I suspect you didn't know most of that before you looked it up.

So Bike building and the subject of Randomness, your two specialist subjects. Excellent.

Now stop distracting Mickle from sending me valve extensions.

You wouldn't need valve extensions if you'd known enough about bikes to buy the correct tubes in the first place, or taken my advice and sent them back to exchange them for the correct ones!

Were you aware that your rim often dictates the type of valve you can use?

Yes! That's exactly what I was trying to tell him, my advice was to send the tubes back and get the proper ones. But I don't think he wanted to accept that he'd done something wrong so has obviously insisted on soldiering on. Trouble is, now, everyone will be able to see that he's done something wrong.

Anyway Bonjy, what little you have learned about bikes you have to attribute to those on here.

er... no, not the case. For instance, building a wheel. Not many people on here would know how to build a wheel, but I do - it wasn't anyone on here that taught me. I rebuilt a mate's wheel only the other week in fact when he broke a (trailing) spoke.

Mickle is going to send me things for free. It's less effort than taking tubes back to the shop.

And don't for a minute pretend that there is trouble with "everyone being able to see that he's done something wrong". Scan older posts here by username Bonj for examples where someone is clearly unconcerned about being seen to be making public errors.
