Are they allowed? If they're not on an emergency?

I came up behind a police car at lights this morning. As I was approaching a bike went around him and crossed the road on the ped crossing up onto the pavement. I wondered whether or not he would have the guts to stop him, what with him sitting in an active bus lane at the time.

    No, just wondering.

  4. No idea if they're allowed or not, if not who's going to stop them.

The same legal system that stops them breaking the speed limit in Telford.

    Oh, hang on...

    Paul,

Don't expect these any time soon, and they will only be on the 'prime' routes - so unless you come through Heartlands, you won't see them anywhere else for a good few years.

(Not only am I a transport geek for a living, I've got mates at both Centro and TWM

Maybe the bus lane led to a KFC?

I had a police car follow me from Catford to Lewisham on the ride I took that commute video. Since there was heavy traffic and no space to pass, I made him wait behind me, though I was at least sitting at 25. ;)

Personally, I'm happy if they're not wasting time and taxpayers' money sat in traffic jams.

Surprisingly enough, they are allowed to eat!
