Some mey recall that my 10 y/o lad got a surprise role as the main sewer kid in the touring version of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. He'd only started at Stagecoach a couple of weeks before the auditions.
Well he's done nearly 5 months and last Saturday he came home with a letter with the details of the auditions for the part of Gavroche in the 25th anniversary tour of Les Miserable. We thought the teacher had lost the plot, but she was serious, so he attended auditions on Thursday. The tour would cover the whole UK and Paris over the next 12 months. He would have been chaperoned and given a tutor for his schooling, a big commitment.

Mrs FF took him, I was in endless meetings waiting news...
Long story short, he made the first cut, the second cut in the afternoon and into the final 6! Suffice to say, he was not one of the 4 they chose, but he'd aquitted himself amazingly well. learned a new song, music and his own movements in just couple of days. To get to the last 6 was an amazing achievement IMO. Very Proud.

This is what he had to learn and perform for the audition, at 25s in.
