I was surprisd by how small the propellors and rudders seemed for a ship that size ... but I know nothing about marine engineering.

Blimey, there must have been some clean-up before the ferry went aground then! The last time I went to Blackpool (many years ago, admittedly), the seawater there was a smelly brown sludge. I have a feeling I know what was in it...;) !

Apparently that style of "Irish" dancing was promoted by nuns as a suitably chaste form of dancing. I can't wait to see what happens when somebody discovers book two "The Arm Movements".
