Road Shoes

Could someone please give me an idea about road shoe sizes.
Short of trying all the differant brands on (i don.t think there is a large selection near Wellingborough)
I am normally a wide size 8 but I have been told that some makes come up small.
If I find the right brand I can order them off the net.
HELP PLEASE !!!

Certainly Shimano shoes are on the tight side. I'm a size 9 and size 9 is 'ok', but you need to think forward to cold weather riding. I can't possibly get thicker socks in mine.

If you can't try on a pair on before buying them then I would suggest going up a size from what you wear in normal shoes.
