Tried a different route home last night, added less than a mile to the journey and dropped quarter of an hour in time! All hail cycle route planners. Only got lost once and that was due to over-confidence in my lousy sense of direction.
Less hilly, street lighting throughout and slightly busier...complete with buses. Apparently buses forget there's a cyclist beside them the instant they pass.
Best bit, the roads are decent. Worst, the craving for salt and vinegar crisps afterwards.
