Seat post help please

I've just bought a secondhand Specialized S-Works Pave seatpost.

It's the one with the single adjusting screw as in the picture. The problem is that I can't seem to be able to adjust the tilt and the angle is so extreme that it's unusable.

Any ideas anyone?

It works like the old seat clamps, You loosen the bolt to the point that you can get the seat in some times you will need to take it off. Put the seat in and do up the bolt so its just holds. Move the seat where you need it and then crank up the bolt.

Thanks for that, the inserts in the side had got stuck fast, I pulled them out and re-inserted them and now it works fine.
