Hi,

Still waiting on my C2W funded Felt Z100 (can't wait). Have been thinking, is it worth investing in some type of security marking system for the bike? What do you guys use & would you recommend it?

I don't use any, but I do have a record of the frame number for each of my bikes as it's a unique identifier.

The components on a bike are generally worth more than the frame. A theif could chuck the frame, sell the bits and still make plenty of money.

The serial number can be put on the stolen bike register if it gets nicked.

You can get an electronic tag fitted if you want to be 21st century.

My bikes are tagged, and also got the postcode of the bike shop I bought them from on the base. They mark all their bikes like that and then keep a record of the bike owner. I would prefer not to test out whether either system works.
