First posting so please go easy,

Have just bought a pair of sidi 5 road shoes, look very cool.

I just need to fix my Shimano cleats which were easy with shimano shoes as the markings on the bottom of the shoe fitted the shape of the cleat, which is not so for the Sidi. Lots of numbers and lines and whichever i line up to always looks out of centre..
All help and tips welcome,

Thanks

Hi Judder

Sounds like you have bought some proper Road Shoes there.

They are not compatible with the spd cleats that I think you probably have.

These are for the 3 screw spd-sl cleat system not the two screw spd system - which presumably you have.

are the bottoms like this

Yeah thanks for the reply, same as bottom of pics, mine are the carbon sole model.
Am using shimano spd cleats with 3 screw.
Its just the alignment of the spd to get it centred and straight as shimano shoes have specific markings for there cleats..

Thanks

There is no "one" way of aligning the cleats - which is why there are no markings. Everyone has the cleats set to a position that they find most comfortable/efficient.

You may want to have a play around - some people like the cleats set as far back as poss to generate more power and then set the cleats at a slight angle so that the feet sit at a slight 5 to 1 position.See the Sticky in General Cycling.
