Selling - a 2009 Mavic R-Sys SSC 700c clincher front wheel.
Alloy rim and carbon spokes.
In virtually as new condition apart from a slight storage scrape on the rim.
Weight 600g per my kitchen scales.
It's out by 1mm in one place - you will need a splined spoke key and a couple of spare minutes to correct it.
This wheel is light and stiff - so less energy is wasted - but still gives a comfortable ride. The overall quality is as good as it gets so if you are after a climbing wheel you are not going to get any better.
£sold
Note
You should Google the 2009 R-Sys - there were a lot of reports about spoke breakages especially in races where side impacts to the spokes resulted in some crashes. Mavic issued a product recall and replaced the spokes with a beefed up version that could cope with vertical and lateral loads.
This wheel has the upgraded spokes - as verified by the 3 rings on the spokes.
The 2009 R-Sys SSC was the only model - there are now R-Sys and R-Sys SL models and this wheel sits in betwen those two.
