Ha ha, Climber and Rambler magazine once published a very serious technical review on the merits of different brands of confectionery bar hammered into ice as belays for winter climbing. Some were pretty strong when frozen, probably Mars, while others just shattered, like Crunchie I'd guess.

my mum used to freeze penguin biscuits and try to fob them off a choc-ices. It didnt fool us but we ate them anyway.
