sony sonicstage AGHHHH

i have a sony walkman mp3 player, excellent love size shape, great for running.
one major problem. sonicstage is the music managemanat software bloody hell!
i have no idea why it allows some music on and not others it seems very picky.
does anyone know anything about these machines, can i load music with any other software and alllow it to bypass this shocking manifestation of software.

Sonic Stage ...urghh

when you plug it in by usb - does it show up as an extra drive in 'My Computer'? can you then drag and drop files directly to it? Most hard disk based devices allow you to do this, you just have to look at how it's organized and drop them in the right place. Been a while since I used the sony though, but didn't like the software.

I remember using a java app instead of sonicstage, just before my mp3 player buggered up. Whether it was related I dont know.

Lovely sound on the sony. Crap software.

The sony walkman i have plays native atrac from sonic stage.

It can play mp3 as well as i have added some patch which sony provided. Mp3 have to be added to a particular folder for them to play properly, using darg and drop in windows AFAIK. haven't used it in a while.
