My bike (Specialized Rockhopper Comp) went into the LBS to rectify a frame fault.

As I thought it might be a good opportunity, I asked if they could quote me for any upgrades if any were available.

I won a watch (watch = frame ), as Spesh said that they could give me a slight upgrade to the 2010 SL Pro frame as a straight swap....or they could give me a 2009 S-Works M5 HT frame for £300 (it's worth around £800).

No prizes for guessing which one I chose.

The 2009 S-Works HT frame was carbon though, not M5 alloy?

(just know as I bought a 2009 Stumpjumper Expert with the M5 alloy frame, and incidentally, it is a fantastic frame)

Ah I see, must be a German market frame. Looks identical to mine bar the paintjob, so yeah it's a good 'un!

I perhaps confused the situation by linking the frame on a German site.


It's the 2009 M5 Alloy S-Works frame....and spot-on Mr P...it is indeed from Dales.

They seem to have a good relationship with Specialized and deliver a very high level of service. Not the cheapest but great people to deal with.

I've dealt with them a lot since buying my bike and have found them to be excellent.
