Stolen Kona in YORK

At around 7pm we (Get Cycling) had a Kona Smoke2-9 2008 Stolen from the out side of town. I was loaned to a member of staff to do some work in town and he was heading home and stopped at some benches for some food. He was then jumped by 5 MEN and told him they are taking his bike he tried to tell them it was for his work but they just tock it laughing.

He is ok just a bit shaken

Not men. Many other names might fit, but not "men".

Where was this exactly, Spandex?

I assume Police know about this?

They do. I am lead to think it was down by the river heading to Fulford ? but I do not much more as I just got a phone call telling me what happened and asking what the bike was and what it had on it I will find out more tomorrow morning.

The nerve of some people. Evans in M/CR had a £2k bike stolen off the shelf whilst I was there. Thief walked in with bolt clippers in bag and wheeled the bike out of the shop.

It's unbelievable that these crimes are soooooo common. How many lowlife scums are living in our communities. What is going wrong? Yes bike theft is a problem in other european countries but not on the same scale, and just walking into a shop and cutting a chain and walking off with a 2K bike would be unheard of in France, Germany or Scandinavia.
