A charming but completely ditzy female colleague of mine left me a message to say that the garden furniture, fence and gate could do with treating and could I go and buy some 'Clearasil'?
Lucky she hasn't got a spotty face then!

Nothing does work. Virtually all of these wood preservatives are water-based these days and they just sit on the surface until the first light breeze makes them fall off.
