Got the fright of my life, along with the other passengers.
I was travelling on a bus to town (don't take my bike there anymore because of theft instances), when another bus was wanting to turn right into the road we were travelling.
You could see in the drivers eyes that he was absolutely NOT seeing our bus, he was looking right and left but was not registering another bus.
He stopped at the very last minute, I think when our driver made eye contact.
What chances have we got on our bikes?
This is the reason why, if I can, I'll pick a traffic free route, even if it means a longer or more uncomfortable cycle.

Is it an awkward right turn? Might have been expecting your bus driver to give him right of way. The Pateley Bridge-Harrogate bus has to make a right turn onto the A61 at a junction more easilly navigated turning left and quite often buses and or lorries on the A61 stop to let that bus out.

Straight forward, minor road into major.
Thing is, there is a parallel cycle lane to the major road, I use it quite often.
I always stop and look at that minor road intersection, because I don't trust drivers to give way.
I would have thought a bus driver won't miss another bus, but there we go.

Yes, some older passengers started to talk about "right of way", I think they were just astounded.

The pedant in me has to point out they should have talked about "priority", not "right of way".
It's a public road, we all have a right of way, what matters is who has priority. Road markings, signs and traffic lights determine this.

Yes, I knew that, but under the circumstances I didn't think I should mention it.
It was shaken OAPs talking.

they're on both sides, plus front & rear, as well as inside, former neighbour was a bus driver, who got overtime in reviewing this coverage
Will the footage be reviewed as a matter of routine?
I don't think the driver of the bus I was in would report his colleague, they were driving the same bus number

I was standing at a crossing on red with 30 or so runners from our local club when a bus driver pulled out of the depot and floored the accelerator and ran straight through the red light with people actually crossing. Luckily a shouted warning meant no injuries. The bus company couldn't believe the amount of complaints they got from on incident. They actually sacked him, sadly the company was taken over and he was working for that company. He does appear to have calmed down.
