.......is downloading 13000 old messages so i now have duplicates in my inbox and subfolders and expect it to take atleast another 8 hours to finish this.



any idea why it has just stated to do it?

Well you have posted your question in the cafe, try asking in 'computer & electricals' section of the forum you may have more luck there

i tried loking for that and have now found it, it got moved didnt it. it used to be a subfora of cafe. any mods want to move this thread please.

Has it been set too leave a copy on the server maybe that can some times be very flakey

it has never done ths beofre, yes i leave a copy on the server so i can log in elsewhere and work if need be.

Chance are that is what has thrown it. Once is has synced again it maybe ok

Who's your email account with? Google/Gmail?

I've had that happen to me using gmail but it was ages ago. Had a quick search on their 'help' and it seems it's something than could happen when gmail loses track.

you using pop or imap?

I took to using imap, deleting things I didn't want and leaving everything i did want in existence, have had a similar thing happen when something went wrong with my inbox when using pop

using pop to access btinternet account. have loaded new tb and now it wont open, it saya already open close before trying again and this is from boot up!
