It's now nearly a year since I took up commuting by bike, and my cycletowork scheme is drawing to a close. In Nov I'll be paying £35 and my Trek 7.5 FX will be mine. More importantly is the fact that I can apply for another around Christmas time.
So I'm thinking of keeping the trek for poorer weather and getting a road bike for dryer conditions. (ie not bothering with mud guards or pannier rack) The wife can also use the Trek for our occasional short journeys.
Seems a shame not to take advantage of the £1000 limit, but I'd like a Garmin 705, which will leave £750 for the bike and any essential extras. Apart from visiting my LBS for further advice anyone any suggestions? The specialized look good value.
