Was eaten to celebrate the receipt of a certificate, medal and bar at yesterday's CTC North Yorkshire's club dinner.

The pie was a Morrison's hand raised pork pie promising much but delivering disappointment. I regret not making the effort to call into Tadcaster on my way to York to sample a pie source that was closed on my return.

The crust appeared to be nicely browned but was undercooked on the inside and tasted that way. There was some voidage and the lightly peppered pork filling was acceptable but was able to rattle around inside the crust. I've had better examples of this pie from other Morrison's branches. This one was purchased in Harehills.

£0.85 6/10

Well done, Vern.

I feel cheated, all I had was muesli

The pie was made in the in house bakery. Quality appears to be variable. I've tasted better in the past. Market Weighton is still in my sights for a pie sampling.

That depends on how you define where it's made, I understand Morrisons pies are made elsewhere and baked in store.
Exactly the same as the pasties in the Cornish Pasty Shop, yet their claim is they're made in Cornwall.

I'm under no illusion. I guessed long ago that the pie is assembled centrally and baked locally it's the only way to get a uniform-ish product. Today's pie illustrated that quality can not be assured.
