Just done a triathlon.... aching like mad but had a great time.

The swim was painful and exhausting, I really enjoyed the bike, felt strong and composed..... then it al went wrong when I had to unclip and jog to transition.... legs decided that they didn't want to work.... that made exiting transition with running shoes on a real effort.

Finished in and hour and 26 mins which isn't too bad.

( 650m swim, 23km bike and 5km run)

it's only the second one I've done. You'd be amazed at how the three events crucify the legs.

Cycling on it's own seems so easy now.

I did bottle out of the 15 mile ride home - the wife came with the car and bike rack.

Oh well, food, shower, relax until work at 6 am tomorrow!!!!!

Well done mate. I do Duathlons as swimming isn't my strong point.

Try to do brick sessions in training: bike, then run straight afterwards. It'll help with the jelly legs. Also, try to resist the temptation to go like f..k when coming to the transition on the bike. About 500m to go, drop it to a low gear and spin, helps loosen up for the run.
