Alright I'm a skinflint but I'd only put about 200 miles on a Michelin Pro 3 before I ran over something which put a nasty slash in it. can it be repaired?

I put a puncture patch on the inside which opens up above 90psi. Any other ideas???

The best material make a patch from is the casing from an old lightweight racing tubular tyre, or an "open tubular" HP tyre.

You can make the patch from a tyre with a thicker casing and sidewall but you might feel the patch when you're riding along.

If the slash is big enough to open up, probably not repairable. You'll have to bite the bullet and pay up for another tyre I think.

While you might be able to limp along with a repaired tyre, if you run it at any real pressure, there's always the risk of the split opening up. If that happens, the tyre could deflate instantaneously. Not a fun scenario if you're dealing with traffic at the time.

Better luck with the next tyre. And watch out for that broken glass.
