Tyre sizes

Just got a second hand racer.
The bike came with a set of schwalbe tyres 700x36. Would there be a problem if I were to put on a set of say 700x25c? or would the wheel be too wide for this? ta.

No probs. Assuming the rims aren't too wide. The tyre shouldn't be narrower than the rim.

I spent an hour this afternoon fitting 700x25C Schwalbe M+ to my commuting bike (down from 700x28C Conti Gators). No probs size-wise. Only done a brief test ride since, but feel fine.

Bit of a headscratcher to fit to start with, being 'stiffer' walled than the Gators or any other tyre I've ever had. Tricky to get the far side beading to want to stay in the rim - you get one bit in and it pops out a bit further along the rim - but once I'd got a technique worked out, I had a practice at removing and refitting them (didn't want to find out how hard it was for the first time at the roadside) and got it down to 5 mins to fit one.
