A colleague at work has been contacted by UK Biobank to ask if he wants to take part in a long term health study involving half a million people, aged 40 to 69.

Most of the information they are interested in will be available on your new government ID card though!

Joking aside, it does seem such a good idea that it's surprising that no-one has done it before.

I've taken part in this. My initial appointment was almost 12 months ago. It's pretty intensive but a lot of the information they gather isn't fed back to you, so it's not a free way of getting a medical
