A nice anecdote about Whitney Houston.....
My friend's late wife was a highly regarded session musician and played for Whitney on several occasions. They became firm friends and Whitney stayed with my friends when in the UK and she wanted some 'quiet time'.
On one such stopover she sent them out to the pictures to have some 'me time' while she baby sat for them. While baby sitting she answered the phone and the bemused callers refused to believe that it was her on the other end of the phone. Their disbelief was not unfounded. My mate was well known for his practical jokes.

I met her once when she was staying in the same hotel in Tokyo. Beautiful lady and beautiful voice but sadly wasted. I went to her train-wreck of a concert at the O2 last year and it was all gone - voice, looks, personality - but I will remember her as she was, not as she became.
