I've just realised that I might be using certain smileys wrongly.
This one :biggrin: is called 'very happy', but I use it to mean 'I find this funny'.
This one :biggrin: is called 'approve', but I use it to mean 'I feel smug about this, but perhaps only in a playful way that i don't really want you to take seriously'.
These things are important.

:smile:

I'd go with your interpretations for those - it's the closed eyes that makes the happy one look like it's really really laughing.

:biggrin: is supposed to be 'surprised' but I think ;) does it better.

I love smilies. Though I'm a pedantic bugger so at the same time don't like the animated ones that bounce about a lot.....

:hyper:

Where's a baseball bat when you need it?

And I'm not sure what this one is supposed to be about: ^_^ ?

I like this one - ;)- to portray a feeling of resignation, despair and a kind of 'FFS'!,
Nice, never noticed that one before. Not as cute as the wee evil guy though. :biggrin:

This one -> ;) = Razz.

WTF is Razz? :biggrin:

I do like the hyper one that soulful dog isn't keen on.
