V brakes repair

Hello I have a second hand classic style mountain bike (in this style http://www.ivanhoecycles.com.au/images/uploads/ladies/11mgi_boulder3w_wh.jpg) with V brakes. I don't know quite how but the front brakes slipped and came loose so I unscrewed everything in an attempt to start afresh. Has anyone got a step by step tutorial link for fitting V brakes or can recommend a How to book?
