This seems an unlikely scenario?
There would only be one valve per rim, do you mean different valves on each wheel? If so, that should be OK, just as long as you have a pump and adaptor to fit both valve types.

The width of the two valves is different, Presta being narrower than schrader. For this reason, a schrader valve won't work in a presta rim unless the valve hole is drilled out. Whilst a presta valve will fit through the hole on a schrader valve rim, the hole will be too big and the inner tube will try to inflate out of the rim through the large valve hole (if that makes sense).

To be honest, it's easier to stick with the type of valve your rim was designed for.

Hmmm, You're right, It would seem a bit strange with two valves sticking out of one rim, perhaps I could have phrased my question more clearly. The reason I asked is my bike was fitted origionaly with Schrader valves but I had to replace both tubes and used a couple (fitted with presta valves) which I already had and have been using them for a couple of weeks now. Hovr's reply more or less confirms what I thinking.

Adrian, Is the plastic Adapter you mention readily available, I did ask in (dare I say it) Halfords the other day and got nothing but blank looks.

Thanks for your replies folks.
