Why are there flies?

Im sitting in the garden enjoying the sun and yet there are flies everywhere (well you know what flies hang around - ill say it before anybody else does )

What is their purpose?? So annoying!!

Flies are there to provide cyclists with a constant supply of protein whilst riding. Ain't nature wonderful?

Why are there flies?

To dispose of dead matter, and to feed stuff further up the food chain. No flies, no insectivorous birds, fewer raptors...

FLies can be irritating buggers...esp. when they simply dont get the fact that they are irritating the literal' outta you !

Migies are just the pits. As the evening starts to cool down they come out if force, you can get thousands of them in one big cloud. One minute you're riding along quite happily and the next it feels like someone's just thrown a handful of sand in your face! I'd happily see them all wiped out.
