They dont speak in Birmingham, they sing. I know one who starts every sentence with a low C and often finishes on an E more than 2 octaves up.
The bull ring is actually urban opera at its finest.

Mrs Gti's family are from the midlands and the language is whining, mixed with a bit of complaining and mock outrage as well as quite a bit of self pity and paranoia.

If anybody offers you a bison, it's not a large ruminant, it's to be sick into.

I'm heading up north this week, Birmingham to be precise. Should I take a phrase book?

When you say 'Birmingham to be precise', how precise are you? The natives of Wolverhampton and the surrounding area get a bit tetchy if you consider them to be Brummies! (Based on a couple of years working in the area). You should just about be able to understand the natives in Birmingham, but if you get into yam yam land it's a different language altogether!

Birmingham up North? Pah! You're all southern jessies in the Northern stakes

Lancashire, northern? People from Lockerbie are southerners; south of Gretna are foreigners ^_^.

Cue someone from Aberdeen, Inverness or Shetland!
