wheel? whisky? smith? ^_^

Cycling Plus is okay if you haven't been a regular reader of it. After a while it goes over the same old rubbish ad nauseam.

Cycling Weekly is slightly better IMHO if you are interested in the racing end of cycling. It has increasingly, in the last year or two, become a magazine extolling the virtues and reporting and advertising sportives which is pretty boring.

I haven't read the others but I'd suggest buyinga few issues of each and see if they tick your boxes. Most people find the repetition a reason to give up after a while.

Yeah I used to buy motorcycle mags frequently and I found they were the same just swapping features and the articles were very similar , I rem somebody commented on a mag and it was all high end stuff and aimed at the kinda loaded consumer and that's defo not me lol , I'm after realistic stuff

C+ seems to have moved to a middle/upper end market - 'you really should buy these bibshorts for £120, enter this Sportive for £50-60, buy this bike for £1200'

Cycling Weekly is more racing-oriented

Cycling Active is the newer kid on the block and has been targeted more at a starter's market - they are doing some coverage of Audax and I've seen some things on more basic riding there too.

All this being said, I don't subscribe nor buy any of them regularly now - I got fed up with C+ pushing expensive kit and Sportives.

I was in the same boat last year not sure which mag to go for, mtb mags were too hardcore for me so looked at cycling Active, got it for 3 or so months then they done a great offer for subscription,a pair of Altura winter gloves (went snowballing with the kids and still warm and dry after an hour) which kinda sealed it for me,i'm not a racer, dont like getting wet and cold on a bike and as yet certainly no hardened rider and i enjoy the mag.Just recetly i've got into cycling weekly, again i dont race but the write ups are very interesting.

I do like Cycling Active. It is aimed at those taking up or new to cycling but I don't find that off putting in the slightest. In fact, I prefer it to the 'been there done that' hipsterism of Cycling Plus. I think CA has a more down-to-earth, real world approach... well, it certainly reviews more affordable bikes! Cycling Weekly might well be a good mag but its focus doesn't interest me, so I can't fairly comment. Ditto mtb mags. There are other mags that might capture your attention - VeloVision for instance.

But, in all seriousness, it depends on your interests and preferences. I'd recommend you get a couple and compare.
