A mate of mine is thinking of changing his wheel bearing for ciramics.
First question. Are sealed bearings all the same size on bikes ?
Second question. If they are the same size what is the standard part number ?
I know that if you go to a bearing supplier as opposed to a specialist bike supplier the cost is usually much less.

Sealed bearings come in various sizes.

There should be a little code number on the seal of the existing bearings which will help - you then confirm that by checking the 3 measurements are ok - external diameter, internal diameter and width.

There are ceramic bearings and then there are ceramic bearings - the best ones are grade 5.

6001-2RS are the ones in Fulcrum 5s, can't speak for other wheelsets.

Couple of things i gleaned...
Ceramic hybrids are fairly expensive. Full ceramics are even more so. You cant press in full ceramics, they need a great deal of care fitting them. I think they're bonded in. Hybrids have a steel outer race so theyre much easier to fit without damaging them.

You can of course get low friction seal 'standard' bearings...they run noticeableably free'r than standard bearings.
