Got the bike out of the shed last night in order to change the tyres before the Cheshire Cat on Sunday, as I was pushing the bike towards the house I could feel the rear wheel rubbing on the blocks.

I quickly found that one of the rear D/S spokes had come loose. I thought at first it was a broken spoke, but the spoke looked fine. As I was replacing it, it pulled free again from the hub as I tightened it up.

The hub itself has cracked lengthwise from the straight pull spoke "hole".

The wheels a write-off, and I've only had it since June, not hit any pot-holes that I'm aware of, and the wheel was OK when I last rode it on Friday.

I'm seriously hacked off with constantly fixing kit, so much so that I threw the bike back into the shed last night, swore vigourously and looked for a cat to kick, it's got me down so much I'm seriously considering saying Bollox to the whole riding thing.

I've emailed Ribble about warranty claims, and we'll see what happens....
